Getting it's name from the dockworkers that made it famous (apocryphal or not), porters are an increasingly popular dark beer. Ours approaches stout strength so it seemed doubly appropriate to name it after the street outside, "Industrial."
Despite a combination of myth, rumor, and truth about its origin, we do know that porters were originally brewed in London in the 1700's (Source: WikiPedia). It gets its color from the use of highly dried brown malt. Deschute's Brewery's Black Butte Porter is probably the most familiar porter in the area, although Karlsson's Industrial Porter is getting quite a positive reputation of its own.
